About Me
I came to woodworking after 15 years as a Ben & Jerry's business owner in the Seattle area. After years of fixing and building things in my garage, I decided to take the next step and take a weekend trip to Vermont for a class on how to build a Shaker hall table. When it was time to head home with my table in the trunk, I was hit by a profound sadness at the thought of leaving the shop and returning to my life of ice cream. My wife and I promptly made a plan to sell the business and a little over a year later, I enrolled in the Vermont Woodworking School Immersion program. The family of faculty and peers was unmatched to the years I had spent in other, less casual secondary institutions. I can proudly call myself a woodworker...and I love how much life can surprise you.
